The traditional method of hair transplantation is known as follicular unit transplantation (FUT). This procedure entails extracting a strip of tissue from the donor region, dividing it into individual follicular units, and subsequently implanting them into small incisions in the balding recipient area. An alternative technique, and the one we use at Per Clinic, is follicular unit extraction (FUE). This method includes the extraction of individual follicular units from the donor area using a specialized tool inserted into the skin.
While FUE has several advantages, it is crucial to remember that the choice between FUE and other procedures is influenced by individual circumstances such as the level of hair loss, donor hair availability, and the patient's preferences. Consultation with a trained surgeon can assist in determining the best procedure depending on individual needs and goals.
